Windows XP: The my computer page shows all the peripherals on a PC, it is very easy to find them and shows it 

all the space they have. Different peripherals have different adapters

Mac OS: On Mac OS, you can have any of the anti-virus software that is available on PC and it will protect it just the same.

Windows XP: The file management on PC is very easy to use, you have access to all your files through the control panel.

Mac OS: Mac OS uses finder to access files and get to your folders and sub-folders very easily.

Ability to customize

Windows XP: On a PC you can fully customize your computer easily because they are designed to be opened easily and have the parts changed.

Mac OS: Macs are very difficult to customize and is probably more of a specialists job, taking it to an I.T. shop would be your best option.

Stability and reliability

Windows XP: On a PC you can back up your data and also back date. Although restoring factory settings will clear your computer of any viruses it will also clear this data. 

Mac OS: Macs feature a software called time machine which allows you to back date your data on your Mac similar to windows.

Mac OS Dock: You can fill your Dock with applications, documents, folders and stacks. In fact, you can even add bookmarks for web pages to your Dock.


Mac OS Cover flow: Cover flow allows you to visually flip  through snapshots of documents, website bookmarks, album artwork, or photographs with relative ease.

Mac OS Tiime machine: Time machine creates back ups of your files which can be restored at a later date. It allows the user to restore the whole system or specific files from the Recovery HD or the OS X Install DVD.
